Staying at Apartment 310 in Andalous Sahl Hasheesh was an experience I would not wish on anyone. As I stepped into the apartment on the evening of December 31st, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment. The lack of basic necessities like toilet paper, soap, drinking water, and dishwashing detergent set the tone for a stay that was anything but enjoyable. The accommodation was in a dismal state, with a mattress so worn that sleep was nearly impossible, and pillows that were practically non-existent in terms of support. To make matters worse, the living room sofa should have been retired long ago — its springs are long gone and sitting on it felt more like sinking into a pit than enjoying a comfortable seat.

The bathroom was equally disheartening, with a broken shower that rendered it completely unusable and water leaking everywhere. Having to seek out an alternative place to shower during a holiday stay is simply unacceptable. When I reached out to the host, hoping for some resolution, I was met with a lack of accountability that was shocking. Instead of taking responsibility for the poor conditions, the host dismissively claimed that Booking.com did not require her to provide basic amenities. This only reinforced my feelings of frustration and disappointment, as a good host should prioritize the comfort and needs of their guests. In summary, my experience at Apartment 310 was one of neglect and unwelcoming conditions — an unfortunate way to ring in the new year.
