My recent stay at the site left me with mixed feelings, largely overshadowed by a multitude of issues that detracted from what could have been a more enjoyable experience. One of the most prominent problems was the persistent foul odor emanating from the bathroom, reminiscent of bad sewage. Despite keeping the extractor fan running continuously and the door firmly closed, the smell lingered ominously, making it uncomfortable to spend time in the room. Additionally, the plumbing clearly hadn’t been attended to in years, and the shower setup was inadequate, lacking any means to secure it properly. To compound the discomfort, the TV was entirely non-functional, which would have been a nice distraction during my stay. The towels provided were old and discolored, prompting me to resort to using my own towel for basic hygiene.

The overall cleanliness of the accommodation left much to be desired, particularly on the outdoor balcony where the table and chairs were enveloped in dust and grime. This necessitated cleaning before I could even consider using the space to relax. Despite my early morning arrival at 3:45 AM, the site manager failed to provide basic toiletries or even toilet paper, which was in stark contrast to the site’s claims. Despite my repeated requests over three days, toilet paper remained elusive. I found the kitchen in a disappointing state as well, equipped with blunt knives that rendered even simple tasks, like cutting an onion, frustrating. Rather than providing a toaster, which was noticeably absent, the manager suggested that I should use a pan to attempt making toast. To top it all off, there were no kitchen towels available to dry any washed plates, further adding to the inconvenience of preparing meals.

On a more positive note, there were redeeming aspects of my stay; the bed was undeniably comfortable, which allowed for some restful nights despite the surrounding issues. The on-site restaurant offered good, basic food, and the staff were consistently friendly, contributing positively to my experience. Furthermore, the location was a major highlight; being just a 10-minute walk from a beautiful beach offered a wonderful escape from the disappointments I encountered at the accommodation. Despite the problems, these few bright spots provided a faint glimmer of satisfaction amidst a stay that ultimately fell short of expectations.
