Our recent stay at [Hotel Name] was nothing short of a disappointment, primarily due to the astonishing level of uncleanliness in our room. The stark contrast between the photos displayed on Booking.com and the reality we encountered was jarring. Upon entering, we were met with a fridge that had visible fungus, a couch covered in dust and stains, and a fan that seemed to have never been cleaned. It was clear that this space had not been maintained in months, and the dirty cleaning supplies littering the bathroom only added to the disarray. To make matters worse, the garbage had not been emptied, and we were shocked to discover that there was no toilet paper provided for our use.
Attempting to make the best of a bad situation, we set about cleaning the fridge and the fan ourselves, hoping to create a more sanitary environment. However, this endeavor quickly became exhausting and barely scratched the surface of the overall condition of the room. Additionally, the amenities promised to us were in dire disrepair; the cooker was not only broken but also filthy, and the shower offered only cold water. To compound our frustrations, the remotes for the air conditioning and television had dead batteries, leaving us stranded without basic comforts, further undermining our experience.
Our overall experience was marred by a troubling encounter at the front desk, where we felt an effort was made to impose an additional fee upon us, which we ultimately refused to pay. The culmination of these grievances led us to make the difficult decision to cut our stay from four nights to just one. It was unfortunate to lose our money for a room that did not meet even the most basic of cleanliness and comfort standards, and we left feeling disillusioned by what should have been a pleasant getaway.
