The issues didn't end with the delayed check-in, as the apartment itself was sorely lacking in basic amenities. Typically, in Gouna, one would expect to find essential supplies such as water and toilet paper stocked for guests upon arrival. Instead, I was greeted by a deserted space, completely devoid of necessary items. Furthermore, upon inspection, it became evident that the apartment had not been properly prepared—it was notably missing vital kitchen supplies like mugs for coffee, inadequate for the five guests in our party. This oversight led to further inconveniences: after alerting the owner, we wasted our entire morning waiting for proper glassware, only managing to head to the beach at 2:00 PM.

While the apartment itself is relatively new and shows minimal wear, indicating that it had likely been rented out for less than six months, it is clear that the maintenance and preparation protocols require significant improvement. The air conditioning units were noisy and ineffective, and even the Wi-Fi was cut, requiring additional follow-up with the owner for resolution. The initial excitement of staying in a pristine, modern place quickly diminished as the lack of attention to detail became apparent. To enhance the experience for future guests, it is essential that the owner takes responsibility for thorough inspections before check-ins instead of relying solely on housekeeping to prepare the property.
