Staying at the hotel was quite an experience, albeit one filled with challenges. One of the most glaring issues was the lack of accessibility for disabled guests. Upon arrival, we encountered a steep flight of steps at the entrance, which proved to be a daunting start. The lift, while convenient, was frustratingly not level with the floor, leading to several trips and stumbles as I navigated entering and leaving. Furthermore, the balcony doors were not flush, requiring a high step over to go outside, and without any "mind your step" signage, I found myself tripping on the ledge more than once. The room itself was dirty upon our arrival, necessitating a request for cleaning services from the receptionist, which didn’t help the feeling that the space was utterly incomplete. To add to the discomfort, we only had two hard chairs and no sofa, and there were no cutlery or glasses to use, making it awkward to enjoy meals.

Despite these numerous setbacks, there were a couple of redeeming qualities, such as the stunning view from our room and the useful lift service that, when functioning correctly, alleviated some of the strain of navigating the stairs. However, the dining experience left much to be desired; both breakfast and lunch were poorly prepared, culminating in me suffering from food poisoning on the second night. The noise level was incessant, with disturbances coming from the kitchen and pool area, along with slamming doors that disrupted any hope of a restful night. Recommendations for soundproofing, alongside a review of dining standards and a push for greater accessibility modifications, are desperately needed to elevate this hotel experience. Unfortunately, I lost my glasses in the sea, which added to the overall bitterness of what should have been an enjoyable getaway.
