My experience staying at the apartment was utterly disappointing, marked by a series of unsanitary and unsafe conditions that made my one-night stay unbearable. Upon arrival, we were greeted by an unkempt environment; the walls were in terrible condition, with both plaster and paint peeling away, creating a grim atmosphere. Broken lamps hung precariously above the bed, while a burnt-out electrical appliance posed a serious danger. To add to the discomfort, the bathroom was in a particularly filthy state, with thick grime lining the shower cubicle and a leaky showerhead that only exacerbated the already inadequate conditions. The appalling cleanliness was further highlighted by a dirty soap dispenser visible in plain sight.

The list of issues only grew as we attempted to make the best of our situation. The beds were unmade, forcing us to sleep on a filthy mattress, and we quickly discovered that there was no toilet paper available—an essential amenity that should never be overlooked. The balcony, which we had hoped to use, was inaccessible due to a broken door, limiting our ability to enjoy any fresh air. Even the basic fixtures of the apartment, such as the towel rail and wardrobe door, were broken, adding to the overall dysfunction of the living space. It became clear that we had made a grave mistake in choosing this accommodation, and we opted to seek a cleaner, safer alternative the very next day, despite the additional costs incurred.

While the owner eventually reached out via WhatsApp to inquire about our experience, his dismissal of our legitimate concerns only amplified our frustration. After submitting a detailed list of the issues, along with photographs, he acknowledged the problems but requested that we refrain from contacting Booking.com or leaving negative feedback to avoid tarnishing his rental prospects. His claims of intending to carry out remedial work were contradicted by reports from other residents who indicated that these problems had persisted for years without resolution. Our experience prompted us to inform Booking.com upon our return, highlighting serious concerns, including the hazardous electrical situation that resulted in an electric shock. In response, the owner flatly denied our claims, leaving us with the impression that the guest experience was not a priority for him.
